small miracles? (update)

Madalyn is still at Primary Children's Hospital where she has been since July 24th. We had hoped that she would be able to come home and recover before starting her first round of Chemo but some infections in her body and her sodium levels being so low, has made it impossible for her to leave the careful watch of the staff taking such good care of her.
At first the infections were just an annoying postponment of her recovery but after Madalyn's last MRI we have come to look at them as something a little more...maybe a little blessing in disguise?
When Doctor Walker looked at Madalyn's MRI results he was pleasantly surprised to find that not only was the tumor only in one place and not two like he had originally thought, but that the one tumor was also much smaller than he had thought as well. We were told that sometimes infections can actually help in shrinking tumors. Strange but true. In this case I like to think of it as a little sign of miracles yet to come!
Madalyn will most likely start her first round of Chemo next week. Any fasting, prayers or words of comfort for our little Madalyn are very appreciated.
On another note, Madalyn's little spirit continues to be happy even though she has had to call the hospital "home" for over a month now. On one rare occasion when her twin brother Eli came to see her, they were pulling Madalyn in the wagon outside while Eli ran along side of her just jabbering away. Madalyn would giggle as if she knew every "word" he was saying. Madalyn also has quite a fan club in the cancer unit. She loves to walk the halls and and wave her beauty pageant wave to all of her waiting fans. Her doctor, Dr. Walker has almost adopted her as one of his own grandchildren!
